My Setting

I work from my family home which is a semi detached property with a separate playroom which open out into the garden which gives the children plenty of space to play in. The dining area is also used for extended arts and crafts activities. The playroom is equipped with a huge selection of toys and learning resources creating a comfortable and exciting area for the children.

The garden is also fully equipped with a large climbing frame, including slides and swings and a playhouse. We also keep chickens that are visible to the children and a great natural resource for them. The patio area is also equipped with cars and ride on toys, outdoor kitchen and outdoor games under a covered area providing all year play.

All meals and snacks are eaten either in the kitchen or playroom around the table. Toilet , wash and nappy changing facilities are located off the kitchen.

As an Ofsted registered childminder I am required to follow the EYFS ‘Early years foundation stage’ which provides a framework of learning for children from birth to 5 years old. I will therefore plan activities that support EYFS and prepare a journal for each child that attends my setting recording their learning progress and development and observations. These journals will be given to parents as a child moves on from my setting to school or nursery.

If you chose to come and visit my setting you will be able to view my portfolio. This contains a number of policies and procedures that I have written to outline how I aim to deliver my childcare service to you and your child. It also contains copies of my business related insurances, training certificates and registration details.

If you chose to enter into a childcare arrangement with me we will jointly complete and sign a contract outlining full details of the service to be provided and agreed terms, such as days and hours, fees, payment arrangements etc. I will also ask you to complete various permission forms and forms that give me important information about your child including any health needs, and emergency contact information.
